Jury Verdict Affirmed by Court of Appeals

On August 15, 2023, the Fourteenth Court of Appeals completely affirmed the jury’s verdict our client Nelia Cruickshank’s favor in Ogbonna v. Cruickshank, No. 14-21-00558-CV.  Fogler Brar tried this partnership dispute to a jury in Harris County District Court in June 2021, and the jury found that the defendants, Daniel Ogbonna and Kingsley Ekworomadu, had breached their partnership with Ms. Cruickshank.  The jury awarded her $5,130,673.00 on her partnership claim and $525,000 on a related fraud claim, and the trial court also awarded attorneys’ fees and interest.  Defendants appealed, and the Fourteenth Court denied the appeal in all respects and fully affirmed the jury verdict and judgment of the trial court.  Murray Fogler, Carly Milner, and Jas Brar tried the case, and the same team plus Jennifer Davidow handled the appeal.
